A New Shoot of Fako Elites in Power ...

For a very long time now, Fako indigenes have gone through thick and thin. The reasons are obvious: Lack of collaboration and selflessness. Very excellent administrators they are, and can be, when entrusted with responsibilities, but they lack the will to allow others grow (if not planted). This has been the main problem.
People of other Divisions and Regions take the opportunity to pray and bless their kith and kin to have more blessings flow, so that their cups will overflow to bless even the less fortunate to grow as well. This was not the case with old order of Fako elites, who found themselves in positions of leadership. Here comes a new breed of Fako elites, of whom, we look forward to changing this old order and to make the Fako man proud once more, as it has always been the case.

Scibbles From My Notebook, CAMASEJ In Lagos

The national president of CAMASEJ, Tricia Oben personally sees off the three-strong CAMASEJ delegation [Kinni Nsom of The Post, Sam Bokuba of CRTV and Victorine Yongka of New TV] at the Douala international airport. [Comfort Ngabir made it by road from Bamenda to Limbe where she took a ship to Calabar and from there travelled by air to Lagos].Said Tricia to the traveling CAMASEJ members: “Have as much fun as you can while in Lagos. Such trips don’t come everyday.” True indeed, we were looking forward to having real fun in Lagos. But of no fun was the volcanic ash occasioned by a volcano which erupted in Iceland, spreading to many parts of Europe and forcing many countries to shut their airspace, leaving airplanes grounded. And even as the CAMASEJ delegation boarded VIRGIN NIGERIA for Lagos, the volcanic ash scare just would not go away like that. Memories of the Kenya airways crash at Mbanga Pongo in 2007 also come flooding back. Only the safe landing at the Murtala Muhammed International airport in Lagos put the CAMASEJ members [and other passengers I suppose] out of their misery. Thank God!

People Profile: Role Model – Mr. Nfor Musa Shey
The Bible holds that God created people and gave them different talents and skills. Such talents and skills according to the Bible are supposed to be exploited and used for the common good of mankind. One Cameroonian imbibed with such God-given charisma and talent is Mr. Nfor Musa Shey who leaves positive marks wherever he is opportuned to serve. Exceptionally, one would think that Mr. Nfor Musa Shey when given an opportunity to serve the masses, the poor, truck pushers, taxi men and under scholarised etc, he would exploit but rather the young man socializes with such people to cause them improve on what they do or intend to do. Mr. Nfor Musa’s classmates in primary, secondary and high Schools and the University of Yaounde attest that he was an intelligent, hard working student. read more...

SDF at 20: Vox Pop
The Social Democratic Front-SDF is 20 years old and at 20, Cameroonians have a lot to say in appreciation of the party. SDF has pushed the regime into acting wisely - Mr. Fombah Emmanuel An opposition party plays a major role even from the opposition bench by using policies or ideologies that calls the ruling party to order. Looking at the SDF for 20 years, the SDF obviously has pushed the regime into acting wisely. It has influenced government policy in the domain of education especially tertiary education and infrastructural development and above all regional consideration in national issues. It is an established fact to say that a vibrant opposition party like SDF can influence policies from the reserve bench. If the ruling CPDM has to count its blessings the influence of the SDF must be associated with those blessings. read more...

Pantheon of Hypocrisy!

In opening the 17th Ambassadors’ conference in Paris on 16 August 2009, Nicholas Sarkozy said “2010 will be an important year for the relations between Africa and France: fourteen former colonies will celebrate the 50th anniversary of their independence. It will therefore be a year dedicated to faithfulness in friendship and
solidarity. But I also want 2010 to signal the completion of a substantive overhaul in our relations with the continent…” This was like a sneeze that set various actions in motion in “former colonies”. Probably considering Cameroon as one of the “former colonies”, Paul Biya jumped onto the bandwagon, and announced on 31 December 2009 that 1st January 2010 is the 50th anniversary of “Cameroon’s” independence, before adding that 2011 will see the celebration of 50 years of reunification!
